    Washington, DC Location

    Psychologist Associate

I am a licensed psychology associate in Washington, D.C. I provide a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) based approach for adults and adolescents. At this time I am taking individuals who are seeking treatment in regards to depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and self-esteem concerns. I also have experience working with those who are facing difficult transitions such as divorce and loss. In addition, to therapy, I provide assessments ranging from WIPPSI, WISC-V, and WAIS-IV (IQ), MMPI-2 (mental health disorders), Brown EF/A (adult ADHD and executive functioning), and BASC-3 (childhood and adolescent emotional disabilities to include aggression, anxiety, and depression).

I believe that when it comes to therapy, there is no “one size fits all” approach and that individualized treatment plans enable patients the space to work and grow at their own pace. My CBT approach promotes self-awareness through structured and practical therapy sessions, mindfulness, and helps patients identify and overcome barriers and challenges. I feel that by learning and gaining coping skills and strategies patients find strength and resilience in themselves.

I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Science degree in Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University. Fieldwork outside of providing therapy includes forensic evaluations for adult and juvenile offenders, evaluations and assessments for Disability Determination Services, and vast work with those suffering from substance abuse disorders. Professional research includes grooming and online solicitation used by sex offenders, A-Podd (analysis of patterns of deception and denial), and analysis of behavioral abnormality observations. In addition to counseling and research, I am an adjunct professor for York County Community College (Maine) and University of South Carolina Beaufort, teaching undergraduate forensic psychology.

I look forward to working with you on your journey and road to health and healing. I accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield (including CareFirst). I am currently accepting new patients in the Washington D.C. area. Due to COVID-19, I accommodate teletherapy appointments. If you are seeking in person appointments, I can make accommodations based on your needs.
