Bonnie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) practicing in Virginia and Washington, DC, since 2015. Bonnie earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of San Diego.
Bonnie has extensive experience in community mental health and acute psychiatric settings. She collaborates with her clients working towards wellness, by engaging them in problem-solving and establishing meaning as part of the self-discovery process. She utilizes a person-centered and solution-focused approach in addition to cognitive behavioral interventions to assist clients in achieving their goals and foster positive coping strategies. Bonnie is training in EMDR and able to incorporate EMDR and AIP principles in her work, helping clients to gain a deeper understanding of how past events impact current life experiences. She works with young adults and adults seeking progress and healing in anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, life transitions, and career development. As a woman of color and first generation-immigrant, Bonnie values the concept of intersectionality as it relates to one’s identity and strives to create a safe space for everyone she has the pleasure of helping.
Bonnie is working toward paneling with CareFirst BCBS clients in the near future and currently accepts self-pay with superbills provided. Bonnie is currently accepting new telehealth clients in Virginia and Washington, DC.
