FAQs
What is therapy?
At Parkhurst Associates, we provide various types of therapy, including individual, couples, family, and group therapy. For a detailed explanation of each type of therapy, please refer to “How We Help.”
How do I find a therapist?
Choosing the right therapist is essential. We encourage you to review the profiles of our therapists to find one with expertise in the area you wish to address. You can access our therapists’ profiles under the “Our Team” tab. If you have any doubts about a therapist’s specialization, don’t hesitate to contact us for clarification.
How do I pay for therapy sessions?
Some of our therapists accept insurance plans, while others do not. If you choose a therapist who accepts your insurance, we’ll handle all billing and follow-up with your carrier. Before your first session, we advise checking with your insurance company to understand any out-of-pocket expenses like copays or deductibles.
How can we have sessions?
All our therapists offer teletherapy through a secure online platform. Additionally, some therapists still conduct in-person sessions at our office locations.
How does it work? What do I have to do in sessions?
Therapy sessions are tailored to your unique needs and goals. Your therapist will adapt their approach accordingly.
How long will it take?
The duration of therapy varies for each individual based on personal circumstances, commitment level, and goals.
Does what we talk about in therapy remain confidential?
Yes. Client information is strictly confidential and will not be shared with any third party without your written consent, except in situations where confidentiality might endanger your life or the safety of others. We comply with HIPAA regulations, and with your consent, we may share diagnostic information with health insurance providers for reimbursement purposes.
This all sounds good. How do I start?
Excellent! Contact us via the “Appointment Request” or “Contact Us” button button and provide the requested information. We’ll aim to connect you with a therapist promptly. Your therapist will then guide you on completing intake documents through our online platform and scheduling your first appointment.
