Sarah Jesup
Sarah Jesup (she/her) is a Resident in Counseling in Virginia and a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in Washington, DC. She completed her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University and practices from an affirming, person-centered framework. Sarah offers in-person sessions at Parkhurst’s NW DC office and virtual sessions for clients in DC and Virginia.
Sarah primarily works with individuals navigating life transitions, stress, and identity development, with a particular emphasis on helping clients connect more deeply with their values. She frequently supports clients during periods of significant change—such as post-graduate adjustment, relationship shifts, postpartum transitions, or career development. Her work integrates mindfulness-based practices and emotion-focused approaches to help clients build insight and take meaningful action. She also frequently works with young adults struggling with perfectionism, high expectations, and self-criticism, helping them rebuild self-worth and develop more sustainable ways of living.
She has specialized experience supporting LGBTQIA+ clients and individuals exploring sexuality, gender expression, and diverse relationship structures. Sarah is currently pursuing certification as a Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP) to deepen her work with concerns related to intimacy and relational connection.
Clients can expect a calm, collaborative environment where their experiences are met with curiosity and care. Sarah prioritizes a strong therapeutic foundation and partners with each client to identify goals, strengthen coping strategies, and create space for reflection and growth. Her style blends practical skill-building with deeper exploration of emotional patterns and personal values.
