Mark Covington

Dr. Covington is a licensed behavioral health clinician (DC, VA, MD, NY, VT, NJ)  with a decade of experience helping adults and young adults navigate anxiety, emotional challenges, and life transitions. He provides individual therapy in a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel understood, gain clarity, and build the tools needed for meaningful change. 

Dr. Covington specializes in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, difficulty with emotional regulation, and substance use concerns. He also supports clients who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward in their personal or professional lives. His approach is collaborative and practical, with a focus on both insight and the development of strategies that clients can apply in their daily lives. 

His therapeutic style integrates evidence based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. He combines these approaches with a warm and relational foundation, emphasizing the importance of a strong therapeutic connection. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Covington has experience teaching and training graduate level counseling students in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
