Louisa Scamperle

Dr. Louisa Scamperle received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the APA-accredited Institute for Psychological Sciences at Divine Mercy University in Sterling, Virginia. She completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at Park Center, Inc. in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her clinical experiences include psychological assessment, psychotherapy, crisis management, and consultation as a member of a multidisciplinary team in inpatient, outpatient, school, residential, crisis, and private practice settings. Currently, she is a licensed psychologist in both Virginia and Texas.
At Parkhurst Associates, Dr. Scamperle provides individual therapy for adults via telehealth and in person at the Del Ray location. Her approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, strength-based, and trauma-informed. Her theoretical orientation is interpersonal, which integrates interventions from attachment, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic theories to best fit each client’s needs. She enjoys working with people who are coming to therapy for a variety of concerns, including anxiety, comorbid disorders, coping with divorce, depression, family issues, grief, life transitions, men’s issues, relationship difficulties, spiritual concerns, trauma, and women’s issues.
