Elizabeth Resto
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and Washington, D.C., providing bothin-person and online counseling at our Washington, D.C. office, as well as online counseling forclients located in Virginia. I offer a collaborative, laid-back, and warm approach to therapy. Myhope is to create a compassionate and welcoming space where you can feel comfortable showingup as your authentic self.
I work primarily with older adolescents and young adults navigating life transitions, identityexploration, relationships, grief, and the complexities of growth and change. I also supportindividuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and other forms of emotional stress that canaccompany these seasons of life. Together, we can work to ease some of the emotional weightyou may be carrying while helping you feel more capable in navigating what comes next. If whatbrings you to counseling looks different from what is described here, I still encourage you toreach out and we can explore whether I might be a supportive fit for you.
I work from an integrative and client-centered lens, drawing from narrative, interpersonal, attachment, and strengths-focused perspectives. I believe that our experiences, relationships, andthe stories we develop about ourselves can shape how we, in turn, understand ourselves and theworld around us. In therapy, I enjoy helping clients explore these stories with curiosity andcompassion, and consider new perspectives and possibilities. I also value recognizing thestrengths and resilience that clients already carry, even when they may be difficult to see.
Ultimately, counseling can offer a space to slow down, feel understood, and explore what comesnext. I would be honored to walk alongside you in that process!
