    Danielle Grouse

As a board certified, licensed graduate professional counselor, I have a passion for working with adolescents and young adults. I have experience working in both community counseling centers and private day schools before beginning in private practice. Through this work, I have had the opportunity to help clients dealing with a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, substance use, interpersonal relationship issues, life transitions, and autism spectrum disorders. Oftentimes, clients just need help managing life’s daily stressors.

Our work will be collaborative. While my approach is integrative, I lean heavily towards cognitive behavioral therapy. This means that we will spend a great deal of our time focusing on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors intertwine. We will also work together to build new coping skills so that you are able to continue the work outside of the therapy room. I strongly believe that every client’s needs are different, and I am prepared to meet you where you are. You are the expert in your life, and I am here to help guide you.

I received my BA in Psychology at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington before earning my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The George Washington University. During my undergraduate studies, I also minored in Applied Behavioral Analysis for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. As a graduate level counselor licensed in Washington, DC, I am working under the direct supervision of Jennifer Ha, PhD, LPC, NCC. While most of my availability will be through Telehealth, I am happy to discuss in person sessions if that works best for you. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with you soon!
